Electric Vehicle Chargers
As more electric-powered vehicles take to the highways, the life expectancy of their battery chargers is becoming critical. The connector contacts on conventional electric vehicle chargers employ a silver-over-nickel-over-copper construction that wears through after 250 use cycles. Xtalic replaced these layers with its nanostructure materials to significantly enhance the connectors’ hardness and corrosion resistance. The result: up to 40x wear improvement in high normal force applications for much longer service life.
